Well, after helping prepare meals for 300+ people over the weekend, making a trifle for my family this afternoon seemed like a piece of cake...pardon the pun. It was alot of work...but fun at the same time. Obviously it wasn't all fun and games...especially when we almost ran out of food one night...but it was definately worth all the time and effort we put into it. I don't want to sound like I'm repeating Marcia's list of memories...but I'll never forget 'building' cakes, smashing lettuce heads forcefully into the counter (Mwahaha!), the mysterious appearance of ginger ale bottles, talking to people with stage makeup on....you know it's quite entertaining because they look so funny, and yet are trying to ask serious questions, like "where do I put the leftover sour cream?" Okay, fine...I'm the only one who finds that humorous....I'm used to that. But seriously, I realized that it's the tasks that you feel the most underqualified and unexperienced for, that give you the most feeling of accomplishment when you actually finish it.
Yesterday I started learning how to crotchet a quilt/afgan...(what is the difference between the two anyway?) My grandma graciously contributed to my summer project by giving me some yarn in a pretty 'hip' looking bag/purse! Right now I'm still practicing the new pattern I'm learning, but once I've got that down pat and all my colors of yarn....I'll be set to go! We'll see how it turns out!
Peace to the brothers and sistah's!
P.S. in case you're wondering...'Pincston' is Low German for Pentecost.
